John Milton and many others have propagated, through their poetry, that God has a mysterious way of working that should not be questioned. God created an uncertain world and left its interpretation on His so called greatest creation, Mankind. Since then man has been kind enough to have destroyed the very essence of this uncertain world.
Man is an animal who over the course of its existence has invented a lot of tools, all with the intention of making life smoother and easier to live. Man has managed to tame the free flowing river and produce energy out of it, to interpret the meaning of dreams, to write poems on dew drops resting on blades of grass and justified the title of being God’s greatest creation by ultimately changing nature’s balance. But man has repeatedly, as history teaches us, failed to deal with uncertainty. It has either brought peace in man’s heart or anxiety in his mind. It has repeatedly exposed the fragility of our knowledge and beliefs. Knowledge is to man what energy is to molecules. It makes us desperate and with more knowledge and information the world witnesses more innovation making it uncertain.

Together with the advancement of science and technology, technological innovations grew along with it, resulting to the emergence of new equipment and gadgets. No matter how big or small your company is, technology brings both intangible and tangible benefits to become cost efficient and to meet the growing demands and needs of customers. Technological innovations affect corporate efficiency, culture and relationship among employees, clients, suppliers and customers. The type and quality of technology used affect the security of confidential business information.

Due to the burden brought by administrative tasks, like inventory, bookkeeping and records keeping, both big and small companies rely on computers to do their administrative works. The birth of Internet and online social networking sites tremendously decreased the costs of business operations. It also makes it easier for companies to use the Six Sigma management methodologies. Some firms shifted to outsourcing instead of hiring their own personnel due to the low costs associated with it. Because of the huge impact of technological innovations to companies, it is impossible for them to live with it.

Who doesn’t like to come up with new ideas, innovations, and relevant concepts? Everyone has an inventor’s mind if they will turn it on once in a while. I know I do. A few weeks ago, someone mentioned something about hiking across boulders down by the sea shore, where the trail ended and then started again on the other side of those rocks. The comment was that in the winter time the rocks were slippery with ice, and therefore unsafe to cross. But what if you had too?

And what on earth did our ancestors do, they didn’t have a choice, they had to cross certain areas to get to the other side. Meanwhile they didn’t have hiking boots or New Balance tennis shoes to move quickly and effortlessly against the terrain, today we do, or do we I thought? I mean that is a rather difficult challenge; how does one cross icy, or mossy boulders, break water, or large rocks without slipping and breaking a bone or cracking their skull open?
